For this cap we used a combination of logos from the 1944-1945 Phillies’ seasons that we cannot recall seeing on a fitted before. What’s with the bird on the patch? Well, the team held a contest in 1944 for fans to choose a second nickname. “Blue Jays” was the nickname the fans went with, 33 years before the Toronto Blue Jays joined the MLB (and 49 years before the teams faced off in the World Series).
While we’d never fry up a blue jay and dip it in a creole sauce, we thought one bird is just as good as another for this cap!
